Zack Snyder really wants to ‘fix’ his Sucker Punch movie

April 21st, 2024 by Marc Comments

Rounding off tonight’s trilogy of Zack Snyder news, it seems the director, not unknown to love a director’s cut, is trying to get another director’s cut released. Sort of.

Between Watchmen, Batman V Superman, Justice League and the currently on Netflix Rebel Moon movies, Snyder has an impressive list of extended movies and it looks like his very underappreciated and misunderstood 2011 movie Sucker Punch is in his sights now too.

In a new interview, Snyder was asked if there was anything in his movies that he’d like to change or fix and his replay was pretty concise: “The only movie I would change is Sucker Punch, because it never really got finished correctly.

“Even the director’s cut is not really the correct cut. It’s really just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.”

Zack Snyder has plans for as many as six Rebel Moon movies…

I actually forgot that there is already a director’s cut of Sucker Punch!

“I have the footage already shot: they just have to let me put it together,” he goes on, “We ask every now and then. We have to ask again. I think there has to be a window when no-one’s got the movie.”

I really like Sucker Punch, although I didn’t initially, and I’d certainly like to see what Snyder has still to tell in that story but honestly, without another fan movement, I’m not sure this will ever happen.

“If they want to start a campaign, that’s alright,” he concludes

Oh.
